AIM Ireland AGM 2026: Key Updates

Members gathered to review recent progress, hear plans for the year ahead, and help shape the next phase of AIM Ireland’s development.

AIM Ireland’s AGM offered an important opportunity to reflect on the organisation’s recent progress, outline key priorities for the year ahead, and hear directly from members on the issues that matter most to the independent music community.

Held with both in-person and online attendance, the meeting focused on governance, membership development, upcoming activity, and AIM Ireland’s continued advocacy work on behalf of the sector.

Governance and organisational development

Members received an update on board development and the next stage of governance work within AIM Ireland. The proposed addition of Niall Muckian (Rubyworks), Bekah Maloney (Mo Cultivation), and Chris Keena (Anthem Vinyl) to the AIM Ireland Board was put to the room and welcomed as part of a broader effort to strengthen representation across the sector.

The meeting also outlined plans for a revised constitution, intended to support a clearer and more practical structure for the organisation as it continues to grow. This process will help strengthen future governance, representation and member involvement, while ensuring AIM Ireland is well positioned for the next phase of its development.

Building a stronger member offer

A key focus of the AGM was the ongoing work to strengthen AIM Ireland’s membership offer and create more year-round value for members.

Recent progress includes the launch of the new aimireland.ie website, improved communications, and continued work on a dedicated members portal. Once in place, the portal will make it easier for members to access resources, recordings, opportunities, and other exclusive content in one central space.

Together, these developments are designed to make AIM Ireland more accessible, more useful, and better connected to the needs of the independent sector.

Events, partnerships and national activity

Members also heard about the growing programme of activity planned for 2026.

This includes upcoming workshops, industry sessions and partner events, as well as the return of AIM Connects. The organisation is also working to build a stronger regional presence through networking and engagement opportunities beyond Dublin, helping to connect members across the country and widen participation in AIM Ireland’s work.

Partnership development remains an important part of this approach, with continued collaboration across Irish and European industry networks helping to expand the range of opportunities available to members.

Advocacy and sector voice

Alongside events and membership development, the AGM reaffirmed AIM Ireland’s role in representing the interests of the independent music sector.

Members heard updates on ongoing advocacy work and wider sector engagement, including collaboration with other music industry bodies and continued participation in conversations around support structures, visibility, sustainability and the future development of independent music in Ireland.

This work remains central to AIM Ireland’s mission, alongside its practical support for members.

Member input and next steps

A strong theme throughout the AGM was the value of member input in shaping the organisation’s future direction.

The discussion reinforced the importance of practical support, clear communication, relevant programming and stronger connections across the sector. That feedback will continue to inform AIM Ireland’s work in the months ahead, across membership, events, governance and advocacy.

Thank you to all members who attended and contributed to the conversation. AIM Ireland is looking ahead with a clear focus on strengthening its offer, expanding its activity, and building a more connected and representative organisation for the independent music community.
